A hypnotherapist based in North London appointed me to design a complete visual identity for her business, to include a new search engine optimised website, business stationery and promotional leaflets.

First came the logo. It required the name of the company with a supporting graphic to emphasis the ‘balance’ aspect.

Next came the website. The client required the site that projected a professional image with a simple uncluttered layout. She gave me a list of headings and some ideas about colours she liked. The result is a search engine optimised website which is easy to navigate and gives full details of the hypnotherapy treatments she offers. www.balancehypnosislondon.co.uk

The next stage was the promotional leaflets. The first was a folded advertising leaflet giving a condensed version of the information found on the website. The second was an A5 single sided ‘notice board’ version. Both had to be designed using the same style and colours as the website, and of course feature the new logo.

A web design and logo design project for a startup driving school. Enterprise School of motoring wanted a website with a logo that would make them stand out from the crowd as well as help them achieve a good placing in the search engine results.

I decided to use a shield motif for the logo, to promote the idea of safe driving. It incorporates the ubiquitous L plate design, but I added some distortion to offset the usual flat square look and to give it some dimension and appeal.

The website needed it be visually eye catching and had to incorporate Search Engine Optimisation from the ground up. The result is a site that should serve this startup business well in the coming months.

An ecommerce web design and logo design project for a company selling car accessories. The company is the UK distributor for the Door Defender Car Bodywork Protection system and they appointed me to build a new web site with a full shopping cart system.

I had to develop a visual identity including the logo before starting on the web site. The client was very pleased with the result and is intending to expand the site to include further products in the future.

More than just a catchy name, Women With Waders is a unique service. They offer a complete cleaning and maintenance service for garden ponds of all sizes, from small domestic to large commercial premises. I first built a site for this company in 2006, and following the success of their business over the last few years they asked for my web design services again, to rebuild it from the ground up, in the interests of keeping things fresh.

The client has said that the result is a significant step forward in terms of both the look and the content. The new site was built with search engine optimisation in mind and sure enough, a Google Search for “Pond Cleaning Hertfordshire” (plus other related search phrases) puts my client at the top of the results list.

I have also carried out a significant amount of print design work for this client, including business cards, stationery and a trifold mini-brochure, incorporating a logo which they already had, plus other design elements added by me.

The brochure takes the form of an A4 sheet (printed on heavy silk finish stock) folded into three panels, with the two right panels of side 1 forming the outer cover. I also wrote all the copy for this brochure.

This leading IT security company asked me to design and build their new web site. They wanted a site that would reflect the cutting edge services they provide and leave visitors in no doubt that they are at the forefront of IT Security. I have also designed an A4 printed brochure for this client and have been involved in numerous other web design projects for them.

The client wanted a more modern version of their old site, built with up-to-date web standards and search engine optimisation in mind..

Following the successful launch of the web site I created for this client, they asked me to produce a printed A4 brochure to their specification, in time for a large trade show they were attending.

The client wanted the brochure to stand out among the offerings of their competitors, who usually favour a more conservative corporate look.

I was commissioned to create a complete visual identity for this client, a software development company specialising in systems for the travel and tourism industry.

The client required my services because of my extensive experience in branding and visual identities for multi-national companies. The result was a set of logos and a comprehensive set of rules and guidelines relating to colours, fonts and all visuals.

This import/export finance specialist asked me to design a new logo and some business cards for them. For the logo they wanted simple blue and white colours, understated but bold, with text only and no additional graphics.

They were very pleased with the outcome, particularly the differentiation in shades of blue between the letter “I” and the other letters.

For the double sided business card, the client wanted the colours to be shades of blue to match the logo, and was particularly pleased with the contrasting light and dark backgrounds on either side of the card.

A local window cleaning and maintenance company presented me with some sketches and asked me to transform their ideas into a company logo for them. They also wanted business cards and a promotional leaflet.

The client knew exactly what colours they wanted and some firm ideas of how the logo should look. I was able to make these come to life on the computer and the result is a logo they can use for all future print and web projects.

The double sided business card had to be eye catching and in addition to providing contact details, it also had to give an overview of the services offered by the client.

Designed for high volume distribution via a door to door leaflet drop, the leaflet had to be brief and to the point with an overview of services offered by the client, and it had to be single sided to keep printing costs down.

A client who specialises in natural wood floors asked me to design a logo for a new brand of laminates and abrasives they were launching, plus a leaflet launching the range.

For continuity purposes, the client requested that we keep a ‘beehive’ motif. In addition, the logo had to be eye-catching and visually appealing, to make it stand out from competitors in the industry who tend to favour a simplified (dull!) look.

The leaflet design had to take into account visual elements used in the logo and packaging. The leaflet takes the form of an A4 sheet (printed on heavy silk finish stock) folded in half, with the design on the left forming the outer cover.
