Here are some answers to a few of the most regular questions people ask me about my web design service. If you can’t find the one you’re looking for, please feel free to contact me.
How much does it all cost?
If you contact me I can give you a firm quote, but you can get a reasonable idea of the likely cost from my web design price guide in the meantime.
How long will it take you to design my site?
I aim to meet any deadline set by you within reason. Once I have all the resources I need from you – i.e. any text, graphics etc that you intend to provide, the timescale is usually measured in days rather than weeks.
Do I need to get a domain name and hosting?
I’ll take care of your domain name and hosting as part of the package. You just need to tell me what doman name you want (or ask me for suggestions). Costs are minimal.
What does your service include?
A bespoke design that is unique and won’t have been used before for any of my other clients. A site that is tailored to your individual requrements and includes hosting and a domain name, and is fully optimised for search engines. Free support and friendly advice. In short, you get value for money.
When will I need to pay you?
In most cases you won’t need to pay a penny until the site is launched to your satisfaction. If the site build continues for longer than a few weeks, due to a delay in obtaining information/files from you or other reasons, I may ask for an interim payment.
How do I get my site included on search engines?
I submit your site to Google and the other major search engines as part of my service.
Do we need to have a meeting?
In most cases a meeting isn’t necessary and I can build a site with just email and telephone communications. I am based in the Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire / Buckinghamshire area but I deal with clients all over the UK. I am quite happy to meet with you if you are local to me and would prefer a face-to-face.
What support and maintenance do you give?
I never abandon a client once I’ve built their site! Please see my support/maintenance page for further details.
I’d like you to design my site. What’s the procedure?
Simply contact me for an initial discussion and we’ll take it from there. Once I’ve developed an overview of your requirements, I’ll agree costs with you and then arrange a domain name and hosting in your name and begin work on the design. Once you are happy with my designs, I can launch the site and invoice you. From then on your only ongoing cost will be the annual hosting fee and any maintenance or updates you may ask me to do.
