Support / Maintenance

Your web site is live. What next?

Once your web site is up and running, you’ll almost certainly want to keep it fresh with regular updates. So you’ll want a web designer who provides cost-effective ongoing support and maintenance.

Unfortunately it’s all too common for web designers to simply abandon a client and move on to the next client once a site is launched and the fee is collected. Or worse – to charge extortionate fees for even the slightest update like a small text change.

You may be suprised to learn that the cost of keeping you site up to date can be minimal. Many updates take just a few minutes and unlike most agencies, I don’t round my charges up to the nearest hour for each update. That means you can potentially have lots of updates to your web site in a given month and only pay a very small charge.

Example:

Here’s an example of some amendments that might be carried out to a web site over the course of a month. All timings are approximate and will obviously vary for each project.

  • Add additonal paragraph to to home page: 5 minutes
  • Change of phone number on Contact page: 2 minutes
  • Replace photograph: 10 minutes.
  • Add new page: 30 minutes

Total: 47 minutes @ £35.00 per hour = £27.41.

As you can see, having a web site and keeping it up to date won’t bankrupt you.
