The problem
Café Fantastic is a community café run by Merton Mencap, providing vocational training and supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to develop valuable workplace skills and greater independence.
The café needed its own dedicated website to raise awareness of the project, explain its purpose and encourage more people to visit and support the café.
As a separate initiative from Merton Mencap’s main website, it also needed its own identity while remaining consistent with the charity’s values.
The solution
Having worked with Merton Mencap over a number of years, I already had a good understanding of the organisation and the way it communicates with its audience. That made it possible to develop a website that reflects both the welcoming atmosphere of the café and the important role it plays within the local community.
The website was designed to be bright, approachable and easy to navigate, clearly explaining the café’s mission while making it simple for visitors to find essential information such as the menu, opening times and location. Throughout the project, the focus was on creating a website that encourages people to visit the café while highlighting the positive impact it has on the lives of those it supports.
The result
Café Fantastic now has a modern, engaging website that reflects the warmth and purpose of the project while helping to attract new visitors and supporters. It also represents another successful project for a long-standing client, demonstrating the value of building trusted partnerships with organisations that know they can rely on ongoing support whenever a new project arises.
